German Films received thirteen film submissions for the 96th Oscar® Competition in the category "Best International Feature Film"

The selection of the German entry for the 96th Oscar® Competition in the category "Best International Feature Film" will take place with an independent jury of experts on August 22 and 23, 2023 in Munich.

The following thirteen German films were submitted to German Films by German producers:

 

The German selection committee for the 2024 OSCAR® selection consisted of the following participants:

  • Produzentenverband e.V.: Jakob Weydemann (Weydemann Bros.)
  • Allianz Deutscher Produzenten - Film & Fernsehen e.V. / Sektion Kino: Katharina Rinderle (Latemar Film)
  • Verband deutscher Filmexporteure e.V.: Gabor Greiner (Films Boutique)
  • Verband der Filmverleiher e.V.:  Torsten Koch (Constantin Film)
  • AG Kino – Gilde der deutschen Filmkunsttheater: Christian Bräuer
  • Verband der Deutschen Filmkritik e.V.: Matthias Dell
  • Bundesverband Regie e.V.: Mira Thiel
  • Deutsche Filmakademie e.V.: An Dorthe Braker, Sven Poser

 

The 15-title "shortlist" of films submitted from the various countries for „Best International Feature Film“ will be announced on December 21, 2023.
The five nominated titles that will ultimately enter the race will be released on January 23, 2024.
The Academy Awards® ceremony will take place on March 10, 2024.
