Philipp Kreuzer confirmed as Chairman of German Films' Supervisory Board

A meeting last week saw Philipp Kreuzer being confirmed as the chairman of German Films’ Supervisory Board. The Munich-based producer had succeeded Peter Hermann as chairman in 2021 and will now remain in this position for another two years.

‘We would like to thank Philipp Kreuzer for his support and commitment to German Films and look forward to working together in the future on the promotion of German cinema abroad,’ Simone Baumann, Managing Director of German Films, said about Kreuzer's re-election.

Philipp Kreuzer is the managing director of the production company maze pictures which he founded in 2015 with Jörg Schulze to focus on international co-productions. A lawyer by training, he had previously worked for Eurimages in Strasbourg and the Bavaria Film Group, among others. Kreuzer is a member of the PROG Producers of Germany, the European Film Academy and the German Film Academy.

German Films’ six-member supervisory board also includes Johannes Busse, Head of Sales at the German world sales company SOLA MEDIA GmbH, Jana Cernik, one of the managing directors of AG Kurzfilm, Jolinde Sawahn, Deputy CEO and  Head of Funding at the FFA, Kirsten Niehuus,CEO of Medienboard Berlin-Brandenburg, and Dr Frank Castenholz, Head of the K 36 division for Film Industry & International Film Affairs in the office of the Federal Government Commissioner for Culture and the Media (BKM).
