Various German Films awarded at several international festivals

At the 14th Hamptons International Film Festival, which ended last Sunday, the German film EMMA’S BLISS by Sven Taddicken received two awards. The audience chose it for “Best Feature Film“ of the festival. Ruth Toma and Claudia Schreiber won the “Zicherman Familiy Award for Best Screenwriter“ for their script adaptation of EMMA’S BLISS.


Mirjam Kubescha took home the “Audience Award “ of the Vienna International Film Festival (13 – 25 October) for her documentary BALORDI, a German-Italian co-production.


At the 33rd Flanders Film Festival (10 – 21 October) the youth jury awarded the “Mine Xplore Award“ to Anders Morgenthaler’s animation PRINCESS, a Danish-German co-production.


THE LIVES OF OTHERS by Florian Henckel von Donnersmarck won the Peoples Choice Award for Most Popular Film at the 25th Vancouver International Film Festival (28 September - 13 October).


The documentary filmmakers Florian Borchmeyer and Matthias Hentschel received the “Special Prize of the Jury” of the Los Angeles Latino International Film Festival (5 – 15 October) for their film ARTE NUEVO DE HACER RUINAS.


The 27th Macedonian International Cinematograhers Film Festival (26 september – 1 October) awarded the „Bronze Camera 300“ to the director of photography of TOUGH ENOUGH (KNALLHART) Kolja Brandt for his modern camera work.


The Festival du Film Maritime, d’Exploration et d’Environnement in Toulon (29 september till 08 october) presented the “Special Prize of the Jury“as well as the “Audience Award “ to the documentary BIS ZUM ANFANG DER WELT of Roman Teufel.
