German Films allocates € 43,000 funding for theatrical releases of German films abroad

In the third sitting of 2014 and, overall, ist 57th sitting, German Films' "Distribution Support" Awards committee decided to fund eight foreign theatrical campaignes of German films. In total, € 43,000 was allocated.

The committee decided to support the following films:

GOLD in Danmark (Dist: Øst for Paradis, Theatrical release: 15.05.2014)

OH BOY in Poland (Dist: Aurora Films, Theatrical release: 25.04.2014)

STATIONS OF THE CROSS (KREUZWEG) in Austria (Dist: Thimfilm, Theatrical release: 23.05.2014)

TWO LIVES (ZWEI LEBEN) in Belgium (Dist: Cinéart, Theatrical release: 04.06.2014)

TWO LIVES (ZWEI LEBEN) in France (Dist: Sophie Dulac Distribution, Theatrical release: 07.05.2014)

WETLANDS (FEUCHTGEBIETE) in Finland (Dist: Oy Future Film, Theatrical release: 16.05.2014)

The "Distribution Support" funding programme has existed since 2005 and supports the theatrical release of German films abroad. Subsidies are awarded for additional measures over and above the release campaign which had already been planned by the foreign distributors. The support to a maximum of Euros 50,000 is granted in the form of a conditionally repayable loan. Funding of up to Euros 10,000 can also be allocated as a grant.
