Several awards for German films at international festivals

The AFI Fest, which was held in Los Angeles from 1-12 November 2006, awarded the Audience prize to the short FAIR TRADE by Michael Dreher. The German-international co-production GRBAVICA by Jasmila Zbanic (AT/BA/DE/CR) received the festival's Narrative Grand Jury Prize.



There were three awards for German films at the Sevilla International Film Festival which was held from 3 - 11 November 2006. THE LIVES OF OTHERS (DAS LEBEN DER ANDEREN) by Florian Henckel von Donnersmarck received the prize for Best Feature Film. The documentary TAILOR-MADE DREAMS (MASSGESCHNEIDERTE TRAEUME) by Marco Wilms was named Best Documentary. The audience chose EMMA'S BLISS (EMMAS GLUECK) by Sven Taddicken as its favorite. The festival awarded prize-money totalling €240,000.



The TV festival Cinéma Tout Écran (30 October – 5 November 2006) awarded its Reflet d’Or for Best Series to TUERKISCH FUER ANFAENGER by Edzard Onneken and Oliver Schmitz. A Special Mention was made of the TV film JUST AN ORDINARY JEW (EIN GANZ GEWOEHNLICHER JUDE) by Oliver Hirschbiegel.
