German Films allocates € 49,500 funding for theatrical releases of German films abroad

In the second sitting of 2014 and, overall, its 56th sitting, German Films' "Distribution Support" awards committee decided to fund ten foreign theatrical campaigns of German films. In total, € 49,500 was allocated.

The committee decided to support the following films:

FREE FALL (FREIER FALL) in France (Dist: KMBO, Theatrical release: 05.03.2014)

JESUS LOVES ME (JESUS LIEBT MICH) in Poland (Dist: Vivarto, Theatrical release: 14.02.2014)

OH BOY in Japan (Dist: Cetera International, Theatrical release: 22.02.2014)

OH BOY in Spain (Dist: Surtsey Films, Theatrical release: 07.03.2014)

The "Distribution Support" funding program has existed since 2005 and supports the theatrical release of German films abroad. Subsidies are awarded for additional measures over and above the release campaign which had already been planned by the foreign distributors. The support to a maximum of € 50,000 is granted in the form of a conditionally repayable loan. Funding of up to € 10,000 can also be allocated as a grant.
