Last year saw the Festival of German Film in Buenos Aires reaffirm its reputation as a strong and well-established event by posting almost 6,000 admissions. The director Marcus H. Rosenmüller will travel to Buenos Aires for the 19th edition of the Festival de Cine Alemán from 12 to 18 September, 2019. The Bavarian director will be in the Argentinian capital for five days to present his film THE KEEPER to the audience there.

Rosenmüller is sure to attract a lot of attention among the Argentinean football fans with his rousing drama about the German goalkeeper Bert Trautmann who conquered the English football nation after the Second World War with his athletic performance. 15 German feature and documentary films and the German Films' NEXT GENERATION SHORT TIGER 2019 program of shorts will be shown in the Village Cines Recoleta and Caballito cinemas during the festival week.

The entire spectrum of German filmmaking is being presented to the Argentinian audience: from genre cinema to arthouse, and from international festival successes in Berlin, Locarno, Toronto and Shanghai, among others, through to documentaries and family entertainment.

The varied programme will be rounded off  with a film classic from the silent film era. THE DOLL by Ernst Lubitsch (NINOTSCHKA) from 1919 will be screened in cooperation with the Goethe Institut in Buenos Aires, with musical accompaniment by Marcelo Katz who will be performing his self-penned composition.

It's now become a tradition that the Argentinian VoD provider QubitTV will now be back again this year to accompany the festival online. This means that Argentinian film fans will have a chance to watch German films on the "small screen".
