German Films supports the theatrical release of another eleven German films abroad

Since the second session of the Distribution Support funding committee in July 2005, German Films has awarded a total of almost Euros 120.000 support for the theatrical release of eleven German films in nine countries.

At the third session on 19 September 2005, the funding committee decided to support the theatrical release of the following films:

* LUTHER in Spain

* NAPOLA in the USA

* THE NINTH DAY in Spain

* 7 DWARVES in Slovenia

* SOPHIE SCHOLL in Great Britain

* LOVE IN THOUGHTS in Japan

The support for the following films had already been decided before this session:

* BAREFOOT in Hungary and Russia

* THE EDUKATORS in Argentina

* THE CAVE OF THE YELLOW DOG in Mongolia

* THE GOEBBELS EXPERIMENT in the USA.

German Films' new "Distribution Support" funding program came into effect on 3 May 2005. The funding is intended for the financing of additional measures to supplement the release campaign which had already been planned by the foreign distributors. A maximum of Euros 50.000 can be applied for per film and country. The funding is awarded in the form of a conditionally repayable loan; funding of up Euros 10.000 can also be allocated as a grant.
