German Films allocates Euros 80.000 for theatrical release of German films abroad

At the second sitting of the Distribution Support funding committee German Films has granted support for six theatrical releases of German productions in five territories with an overall sum of Euros 80.000.

The committee granted support for the following films:

AGNES AND HIS BROTHERS in the USA

GO FOR ZUCKER in Israel and the USA

THE STORY OF THE WEEPING CAMEL in Chile

SUMMER STORM in Great Britain/Ireland

SOPHIE SCHOLL in Japan.

German Films' new Distribution Support program came into effect with the constituent sitting of the funding committee on 3 May 2005. The support is intended to help finance measures in addition to those release campaigns already planned by the foreign distributors. A maximum of Euros 50.000 per film and country can be applied for. The support is allocated in the form of a conditionally repayable loan. Funding amounts up to Euros 10.000 can also be awarded as a subsidy.
