German Films allocates Euros 63,000 funding for theatrical releases of German films abroad

In the second sitting of 2009, the „Distribution Support“ awards committee met on July 3 to fund nine foreign theatrical campaigns of German films with a total of € 63,000.

The committee decided to support the following films:

 

- ANONYMA - A WOMAN IN BERLIN (ANONYMA – EINE FRAU IN BERLIN) in the United States of America

 

- A FATHER'S MUSIC (NACH DER MUSIK) in Romania and Hungary

 

- NORTH FACE (NORDWAND) in the United States of America

 

- THE RED SPOT (DER ROTE PUNKT) in Québec

 

- STORM (STURM) in the United States of America

 

- THE WAVE (DIE WELLE) in Brazil

 

- CLOUD 9 (WOLKE 9) in Great Britain/Ireland and Norway

 

The "Distribution Support" funding program has existed since 2005 and supports the theatrical release of German films abroad. Subsidies are awarded for additional measures over and above the release campaign which had already been planned by the foreign distributors. The support to a maximum of Euros 50,000 is granted in the the form of a conditionally repayable loan. Funding of up Euros 10,000 can also be allocated as a grant.
