German Films allocates € 104,500 funding for theatrical releases of German films abroad

In the fifth sitting of this year on 12 November 2008, the „Distribution Support" awards committee funded ten foreign theatrical campaigns of German films with a total € 57,000. In addition, another two theatrical releases were awarded Euros 47,500 in a second decision.

The committee decided to support the following films:

 

- THE BAADER MEINHOF COMPLEX (DER BAADER-MEINHOF KOMPLEX) in Italy

- THE THREE ROBBERS (DIE DREI RAEUBER) in Italy

- HOUNDS (JAGDHUNDE) in Romania and Hungary

- CHERRY BLOSSOMS - HANAMI (KIRSCHBLUETEN – HANAMI) in Greece, the Netherlands, Poland and South Korea

- NORTH FACE (NORDWAND) in Great Britain/Ireland

- THE WAVE (DIE WELLE) in Greece/Cyprus and the Netherlands

- FAMILY RULES! (WIR SAGEN DU! SCHATZ) in Taiwan

 

 

The "Distribution Support" funding program has existed since 2005 and supports the theatrical release of German films abroad. Subsidies are awarded for additional measures over and above the release campaign which had already been planned by the foreign distributors. The support to a maximum of Euros 50,000 is granted in the the form of a conditionally repayable loan. Funding of up Euros 10,000 can also be allocated as a grant.
