Dreams and Spaces at the Festival of German Films in Moscow

The 18th Festival of German Films in Moscow (27 November - 4 December, 2019) will open with TRAUMFABRIK by Martin Schreier. The director as well as the actor Lenn Kudrjawizki and producer Sebastian Fruner will be in town to present the film to the Russian audiences. The screening will be followed by a Q&A. A total of 13 German feature films, one TV series and three shorts as well as the NEXT GENERATION SHORT TIGER 2019 program of shorts are due to be shown in the Formula Kino Horizont.

2018 had seen the festival again attracting more than 3,000 cinema-goers to the screenings. And this year will also see the Moscow audience being able to indulge in their great passion for German cinema thanks to a fantastic line-up. Moreover, eight guests will be accompanying the festival's program in Moscow and introduce their films there,

The discussions with the audience are not only an important part of the cultural exchange, but also show interested Russian distributors attending the screenings how enthusiastic the audience's reactions are to the films. TRAUMFABRIK already has Raketa as Russian distributor - the film's release in Russia is planned for 28 November, one day after the opening of the Festival of German Films. THE MASTER BUTCHER is the second example of a serial format from Germany being shown at the festival in Moscow.

Schreier, Fruner and Kudrjawizki will be joined at the festival in Moscow by the actor Aram Arami (A REGULAR WOMAN), director Matthias Lintner (PROPERTY), director Yana Ugrekhelidze (ARMED LULLABY), director Uli Edel (THE MASTER BUTCHER) and screenwriter Laila Stieler and Conny Gundermann (both for GUNDERMANN).

As part of a cooperation with the Goethe Institut in Moscow and the MNSK Film School, Laila Stieler will give a seminar and talk with the film school's students about GUNDERMANN and her work on the screenplay. The panel on ¨Arthouse, auteur and other films. About creating competition and interest¨ will be held on 2 December during the International Forum Russian Film Business 2019 with participation from German Films.
