The selection of films for the 2019 edition of the Festival de Cannes 2019 brings German co-productions to the fore. No less than five feature films with German involvement are in the Competition as well as a large number of other co-productions in the festival's other sections. All of the German films and co-productions at Cannes in 2019… MARKET SCREENINGS: NEW GERMAN FILMS IN CANNES German Films will again be organizing market screenings at the Marché du Film in Cannes under the banner of "New German Films in Cannes". 22 new German film, including 7 market premieres, will be presented from 15 to 22 May 2019.
All of the films and screening times here… PRODUCERS ON THE MOVE 20 promising producers from all over Europe will be taking part in the European Film Promotion's (EFP) PRODUCERS ON THE MOVE networking program during the Festival de Cannes. The program is celebrating its 20th anniversary in 2019. Eva Blondiau (COLOR OF MAY) will be participating as the German representative after having been nominated by the EFP member German Films.

NEXT GENERATION SHORT TIGER The 2019 edition of the NEXT GENERATION SHORT TIGER program of shorts is being presented in cooperation with the German Federal Film Board. The world premiere will be held in the presence of the filmmakers on Sunday, 19 May 2019, at 8:30 pm, in the Olympia 2 Cinema.

Jonas Nay achieved worldwide prominence thanks to his role as the agent against his will, Martin Rauch, in the internationally successful and highly acclaimed series DEUTSCHLAND 83/86. The actor, who has also scored success with his band Pudeldame alongside his acting career, is one of the faces of the FACE TO FACE WITH GERMAN FILMS campaign in 2019.

Pre-Selection Screening Dates German Films invites international festival delegates to Germany for specially organized pre-selection screening sessions. These several-day sessions offer the unique opportunity for the festival delegate to screen a large of number of films in a very short amount of time and helps to consolidate the festival application and screening process for producers. Generally, films which are submitted and screened through German Films are exempt from the festival application fee.
