Ulrich Köhler and Sergei Loznitsa in Un Certain Regard, Margarethe von Trotta in Cannes Classics, Wim Wenders in the Special Screenings and more German co-productions in the program. German cinema is well represented at the 71st edition of the Festival de Cannes (8 - 19 May 2018).

Also German director Valeska Grisebach is part of the Short Films and Cinéfondation Jury. Her film WESTERN screened in Un Certain Regard last year.

MARKET SCREENINGS: NEW GERMAN FILMS IN CANNES

German Films will be again organizing market screenings at the Marché du Film in Cannes under the banner "New German Films in Cannes". German Films and Focus Germany continue to operate the "German Pavilion" together in the International Village of the Marché du Film. GERMAN FILM WEEK IN THE BIG APPLE

Charming and eloquent guests, who also included a bartending icon and a financial expert as well as representatives of the film business, provided for lively discussions at the fifth edition of KINO!2018 Festival of German Films in New York (6 - 12 April 2018). The new Landmark at 57 West cinema offered ideal conditions with perfect screening quality and facilities. UMBRELLA STAND AT FILMART

The FILMART film market in Hong Kong (19 - 22 March 2018) has become a very important link to Asia. As each year passes, more and more European as well as German companies have a presence there. This year saw German Films again supporting European Film Promotion's (EFP) EUROPE!UMBRELLA stand where eight German sales companies had space for individual business meetings.

COMPETITION ENTRY IN JEONJU

After 34 German films and co-productions screened in the parallel Hong Kong International Film Festival, it was the turn of the festival in Jeonju/South Korea to find a prominent place for German films in its program. DRIFT by Helena Wittmann, among others, will be screening in the International Competition.
