Personal Info

Stepán Altrichter was born in 1981 in Brno/Czech Republic and grew up in Prague and southern Germany. From 2002-2005 he studied Philosophy and Psychology at the Freie Universität Berlin and took on editing jobs and internships on film sets. In 2005 in enrolled in the Directing program at the Filmarche and was accepted to the Directing class at the FAMU Prague and the Film University Babelsberg KONRAD WOLF. His films include: the shorts LAUSCH (2005), STRANGE NEWS (2006), DAVID (doc, 2007), BOB, FISH AND DOG (doc, 2007), TUNING MAN (doc, 2009), DID MICHAEL KNIGHT END THE COLD WAR? (2009), ALYENA - LITTLE MISS NEUKÖLLN (doc, 2011), DUYGU (doc, 2012), and his feature debut and graduation film SCHMITKE (2014).
