Personal Info

Andreas Höfer studied Cinematography at the "Konrad Wolf" Academy of Film and Television in Potsdam-Babelsberg. Since 1991, he has been working as a DoP for fiction feature films, classic television movies and documentaries. His style has been greatly influenced by his prowess with the hand-held camera, which directors like Andreas Dresen and Volker Schloendorff value in the realization of their own productions. In 1999, he received a special prize from the Polish Film Association during the Camerimage-Festival and in 2000 he was awarded the Golden Camera at the International Cinematography Festival “Manaki Brothers” in Bitola/Macedonia for his work on Volker Schloendorff’s THE LEGENDS OF RITA. Most recently, he was DoP for Andreas Dresen’s SOMMER IN BERLIN.
