Nathalie Steinbart was born in 1966 in Duesseldorf. In 1984, she was one of the founding members of the cabaret group EXEKUTION 27/b and directed various children's theater productions from 1984-1989. She then studied Acting at the Etage e.V. in Berlin from 1990-1993, followed by studies in Direction and Scriptwriting at the German Film & Television Academy (dffb) in Berlin from 1993-1999. Her films include: the shorts Ein moderner Tod and Taschendiebe (1994), Neulich, im Antiquariat (1995), Der Grosswildjaeger (1996), Aussen/Nacht (1997), and Motown (1998), and her graduation feature film The Middle of Nowhere (Endstation: Tanke, 2001).
