Benjamin Reding was born in Dortmund in 1969. He studied Archaeology at the Bochum University from 1988-90. At the Bochum Schauspielhaus he worked as an assistant director and directed children's plays. In 1992 he attended the Academy of Theater and Music in Stuttgart. After his diploma, he moved to Hamburg and co-directed the short films Acker, Leute, Goethe (short, 1995), Adrian's Monday (short, 1995), Dirt (short, 1996) and Taste The Sweat (short, 1997). Oi! Warning was his first long feature film.
