Ulrich Felsberg has produced and co-produced more than 60 films since the early eighties. His feature credits include 9 films directed by Wim Wenders, amongst them Bis ans Ende der Welt (1991) and The Million Dollar Hotel (1999, Silver Bear in Berlin 2000), as well Michelangelo Antonioni’s and Wim Wenders’ Beyond the Clouds. Buena Vista Social Club received the European Film Award 1999 and in 2000 Felsberg was nominated as the producer of Buena Vista Social Club for an Academy Award (OSCAR). His producer credits include 7 Ken Loach films, including Land and Freedom (1994) which received the European Film Award 1995 and My Name is Joe (1998). He has worked with directors such as Tomás Gutiérrez Alea and Juan Carlos Tabio Rey on the film La Guatanamera (1995), as well as with Stephen Frears, Gerardo Herrero, Robert Lepage, Paul McGuigan, Manuel Gómez Pereira, Carlos Saura, Julien Temple and Juanma Bajo Ulloa. In 2002 he produced Sweet Sixteen by Ken Loach as well Bend It Like Beckham by Gurinder Chadha, in 2002/2003 7 films about The Blues directed by Charles Burnett, Mike Figgis, Marc Levin, Richard Pearce, Martin Scorsese, Wim Wenders and Clint Eastwood (several of which screened in Cannes and Venice in 2003), as well Ken Loach’s latest film Ae Fond Kiss. Felsberg is currently a member of the board of The European Film Academy. In 1999 he became a member of the board of the Ateliers du Cinema Européen (ACE) and in 1999 of the British Academy of Film & Television Arts (BAFTA).
