Maximilian Erlenwein was born in 1975 in Berlin. Before enrolling at the German Film and Television Academy (DFFB) in 1999, he studied Sociology and Media Sciences and worked as a freelance camera assistant and cameraman. His acclaimed films include: ELVIS VS BRUCE LEE (short, 2000), JOHN LEE AND ME (short, 2002), BLACKOUT (short, 2005), RAW AND UNCUT (concert film, 2006), KILLING THE DISTANCE (documentary, 2007), GRAVITY (SCHWERKRAFT, 2009), and STEREO (2014).
