Heiko Aufdermauer was born in 1976 in Fuerth and studied Theater at the Humboldt University in Berlin and Directing at the "Konrad Wolf" Academy of Film & Television in Potsdam-Babelsberg. His films include: the shorts Die Schleife (2000), Der Sprung (2001), Nie Wieder (2002), Unter uns ist Japan (2003), Trois Fois Moi (2003), Jusuf (2004), Der zweite Blick (2005), Mother Durga (2006), Zaar (2007), and his feature debut A Time for Fishes (Zeit der Fische, 2007).
