Personal Info

André Erkau was born in Dortmund in 1968. While studying Psychology, he served as a directing intern at the Bremen Schauspielhaus. He then started acting and founded the Junge Theater in 1993 with other acting colleagues. He studied at the Hamburg Actors' Studio from 1994-1997 and then became a member of the ensemble at the Württembergische Landesbühne in Esslingen until 2001, followed by studies in Directing at the Academy of Media Arts Cologne (KHM). A selection of his films includes: DER COACH (short, 2004), 37 OHNE ZWIEBELN (short, 2006), his first feature SELBSTGESPRÄCHE (2007) which won the main prize at the Max Ophüls Festival in Saarbrücken, ARSCHKALT (2011), and LIFE'S NO PIECE OF CAKE (DAS LEBEN IST NICHTS FÜR FEIGLINGE, 2012).
