Peter Zingler was born in 1944 in Chemnitz/Germany. He has been a writer since 1985, publishing numerous novels and collections of short stories as well as screenplays for such TV series as Ein Fall fuer Zwei (1986-1994), Eurocops (1991-1992), Tatort (1990-1995), Gerichtsreporterin(1994) and Peter Strohm (1995). He received the Ingeborg Drewitz Literature Prize from the North Rhine-Westphalian Arts Ministry in 1989 and an Adolf Grimme Award in 1993 for the Tatort episode (Kinderspiel). Life is a Bluff (Alles nur Tarnung, 1996) was his directorial debut.
