Andreas Arnstedt was born in 1973 in Gera. He studied at the University of Film and Television “Konrad Wolf” in Babelsberg from 1990 - 1993, followed by work as an actor in film, television and the theater. In 1997 he began writing and directing various theater plays and scripts, including The Chancellor and the Collection of Goering and No One Wants to be the Other One. The Dispensables (Die Entbehrlichen, 2009) marks his film debut.
