If You Don´t Want Me (Wenn Du mich nicht willst)

If You Don´t Want Me

As with every summer, Sybille comes to visit her cousin Claudia in the small Italian mountain village which was the birthplace of her father who emigrated to Germany. An eventful time begins for Claudia and Sybille: the melting and boiling point is the village square where new couples come together and others part company. Claudia is just taking her first shaky steps: she has fallen in love with Luca. One day when they go swimming, Luca loses his heart to Sybille who flirts with him thoughtlessly and openly in order to impress someone else. Claudia is beside herself. And with her proud, hurt defiance, she makes every-thing much worser than it actually is. It looks as if Claudia's first love will end in a tragedy. Sybille may have a plan to make everything better again (the usual one: dress up nicely and smile) but life is constantly full of surprises and the jilted Claudia suddenly discovers inner strengths which surprise Luca and Sybille and not least Claudia herself. Love is a school for which one never becomes too old, but where one sometimes surpasses oneself.
