Scene from "Men in the City" (photo © Warner Bros. Entertainment)

Five men in search of love and happiness in a time when men aren't really sure anymore what it means to be a man, and what women expect of them. From their "home base" at a Berlin gym, the men swarm out into the big city to talk up, seduce, betray, leave and, maybe, reunite with the women who enter their orbit. Jerome is the alpha male, oozing self-assurance, his steeled abs literally reaching out for success. The very opposite of Jerome is Gunther, who collects tips from his gym acquaintance on how to seduce women. Another denizen of the gym club, Roland keeps to himself and screams out his repressed emotions while working out. The two pals Philip and Niklas are a study in contrasts. Philip, the eternal student, has been fired from his trainee job and wants to open a health-food restaurant. Niklas is an advertising and PR ace. What they both share are women problems.

Are men the strong sex? These five – sensitive, vulnerable, often intolerable – ask themselves this question as they stumble from one misadventure to another, from one woman to another, until they learn a very valuable lesson: that you have to fight for the woman you love. Even if you have to take on a crocodile single-handedly!
