Eduard's Promise (Fuenf-Uhr-Schatten)

Eduard's Promise

Eduard and Julia have split up. But they come together one more time. Traveling on a crazy journey through their emotions and through the apocalyptic outside world, they are reconciled with each other, quite against their original plan.

Eduard's Promise speaks about opposites which cannot manage without each other: about Eduard, the old-fashioned loner who recites sentimental poems to keep feelings at bay. And about Julia who fights for his love as if she had to win a battle.

They are both on foot when they stumble into this road-movie: they almost lose their lives on the way, turn back in distress, wander forlornly and separately through the city that had still been their home that morning, are reconciled after several set-backs - and then they set off again - in the middle of the night - into the countryside.

Julia is too tired to fight any more battles, Eduard's poems are sincere, and they give each other their lost paradise, at a godforsaken place.
