Claus Strigel was born in 1955 in Munich. He began making his first films on Super 8 at the age of 11 and studied Psychology, Pedagogy and Communications. In 1976 he co-founded DENKmal-Film with Bertram Verhaag. He has written and directed over 50 award-winning films, including: Too Much Man! (echt tu matsch!, 1983), Nuclear Split (Spaltprozesse, 1987), Runaway (1992), The Last Man Alive (2000), Planet Hasenbergl (2002), In the Back of Beyond (2003), X-pedition (2006), Moon Sun Flower Game (2008), and In What We Trust (2009), among others.
