Malte Ludin was born in 1942 in Bratislava. After studying Politics in Tuebingen and Berlin, he worked as a trainee at the Berlin-based broadcaster SFB and subsequently took up studies at the German Film & Television Academy (dffb) in Berlin. Active as a freelance writer and filmmaker since 1976, a selection of his films includes: Energie fuer Euro 9 (TV documentary, 1976), Die Revolution findet nicht im Kino statt (1979), Das donnernde Geschaeft (documentary, 1983), Fabrik zum selbermachen (documentary, 1985), Truemmerfilme (1986), Keine Experiment, Filmzensur in der Aera Adenauer ((1989), Die Frau seines Lebens (short, 1990), Boehmische Doerfer (short, 1995), 1/4 Blues (video, 2003), and 2 oder 3 Dinge, die ich von ihm weiss (2005).
