Andrew Horn was born in 1952 in New York. After graduating from the local art college, he began working as a filmmaker and graphic artist. In 1989, he was awarded a DAAD artist-in-residence scholarship and moved to Berlin where he continued to work in film and as a writer. His films include: Elaine. A Story of Lost Love (1978, in co-direction with John Meaney), Space City (1979, in co-direction with Robyn Brentano), Doomed Love (1984), The Big Blue (1988), and The Nomi Song (2004).
