Liliane Targownik studied at the Academy for Television & Film (HFF) in Munich from 1978 to 1983 and has since worked as a journalist, writer, and director of features and documentaries. She studied and worked in Israel and has served as a visiting lecturer for screenwriting at the Baden-Wuerttemberg Film Academy. Her films include: Da schaut man nicht (short, 1982), Verbotene Hilfe (graduation film, 1984), Zwischenspiel (TV, short documentary, 1988), Aktion Suehnezeichen (TV, short documentary, 1989), Leben im Muell (TV, short documentary, 1990), Moving (1991), and Rosenzweig's Freedom (Rosenzweigs Freiheit, 1998).
