Anke Hentschel was born in 1972 in Ulm. She studied Stage Design at the Academy of Arts in Berlin and Film Directing at the "Konrad Wolf" University of Film & Television, followed by studies at Tel Aviv University. Her films include: Und Bitte! (short, 1998), Blaufahren (1998), Der Zauberer (documentary, 1999), Im Sommer (short, 2000), California Rain (short, 2001), 40,000 km - Berliner Strassenkinder (documentary, 2003), Schauspieler und Regisseur (2004), Stella (short, 2006), and Unteachable (2010).
