Thomas Grube was born in 1971 in Berlin. After studying Political Science and Eastern European Studies, he studied Film at the "Konrad Wolf" Academy of Film & Television (HFF/B) in Potsdam-Babelsberg. In 1993, he founded Memphis Productions and produced and directed shorts films and documentaries. In 1997, together with Uwe Dierks, he founded the directors' label grube&dierks. In 1999, he co-founded Boomtown Media. A selection of his films includes: Love is the Message (1995), Life in a Soap Opera (1999/2000), Jewish Museum Berlin (2000), Karl Weschke - Myth of a Life (2000), Warsaw Express (2000), Verdi's Falstaff (2001), Rhythm Is It! (2004), and Trip to Asia (2008).
