Didi Danquart was born in Singen in 1955 and was a co-founder of the Freiburg Media Workshop. He instructed Video and Documentary Filmmaking at the German Film & Television Academy (dffb) in Berlin from 1983-1988 and received the German Film Critics' Documentary Prize in 1983 and 1991. A selection of his films includes: Passt bloss auf (1981), Die lange Hoffnung (1983), Exilio - Das Fluechtlings-lager Colomancagua (1985), Projekt Arthur - Die Gewaltfrage 1968 (1987), Der Pannwitzblick (1991), Lemberg - Geoeffnete Stadt (1993), Wundbrand - 17 Tage im August in Sarajevo (1994), Bohai Bohau (1995), Jew-Boy Levi (Viehjud Levi, 1998), and Offset (2006).
