Japanese Are Better Lovers (Japaner sind die besseren Liebhaber)

Japanese Are Better Lovers

Peter Merz, an ambitious young management consultant, sees the chance of a lifetime come true when he gets a Japanese company interested in a business project in Saxony. Unfortunately, his plans do not work out as smoothly as he had hoped: competition does not sleep. It appears in the shape of Theamarianne Hoederbach, an exceptionally attractive lady who knows all the tricks of the trade. She sets her mind on persuading the Japanese to invest in a project in Thuringia. Full of zeal, Peter looks after Takahashi, the head of the company. But Theamarianne also comes up with some ideas. Forced to meet frequently, the two rivals become more intimately acquainted. Meanwhile Anna, Peter‚s neglected wife, betrays her husband with the shy young Japanese Michio. After accidentally hitting him with her car, she had invited him home one night. He happens to be the powerful Takahashi‚s son, and it is up to him to decide for or against the deal with Peter. But Michio is not interested in business. He prefers spending his time with Anna ...

Philipp Weinges was born in 1960. He learned the craft of writing screenplays with the American script teacher Robert McKee. His first feature filmscript Allein unter Frauen was filmed by Soenke Wortmann in 1990 and was seen by over a million in the cinemas. He completed his second script for the cinema after various television productions and three years of intensive writing (with co-author Guenter Knarr). On this occasion, he took on the directing chores himself. What proved very useful here was the experiences from several shorts where he was not only author and director, but also editor and producer.
