Long Hello and Short Goodbye

Love and deceit are at the center of this romantic thriller. The young safebreaker Ben is released from prison and picked up by the beautiful and unknown Melody. She claims to be an undercover agent assigned to him. Ben doesn't believe a word. Melody talks as long as the day has hours. Ben keeps queit. But opposites attract, as they say. Ben lets himself be taken in by her game. They have fun. A life and death struggle begins when they fall in love with one other. Ben's past catches up with him, and Melody's plan to save him goes out of control when everybody follows their own plan. The question is: will their love survive?


Rainer Kaufmann was born in Frankfurt in 1959 and graduated from the Academy of Television & Film in Munich in 1990. During his studies he made several award-winning shorts, including The Most Beautiful Breasts in the World (Der schoenste Busen der Welt, 1990). His first feature-length TV film, Dann eben mit Gewalt (1992), won numerous European awards.
