Unteachable (Unbelehrbar)

Ellen decides at the age of 40 to finally learn how to read and write. But in the adult education school of her home town there are no such courses, so she decides to move to Berlin against the wishes of her family. There she has to rely on herself completely for the first time and is confronted with the sudden experience of being independent. But Ellen is full of optimism and has the courage of her convictions.

Anke Hentschel was born in 1972 in Ulm. She studied Stage Design at the Academy of Arts in Berlin and Film Directing at the \"Konrad Wolf\" University of Film & Television, followed by studies at Tel Aviv University. Her films include: Und Bitte! (short, 1998), Blaufahren (1998), Der Zauberer (documentary, 1999), Im Sommer (short, 2000), California Rain (short, 2001), 40,000 km - Berliner Strassenkinder (documentary, 2003), Schauspieler und Regisseur (2004), Stella (short, 2006), and Unteachable (2010).
