FEDORA - REMASTERED

FEDORA - REMASTERED

One of Billy Wilder’s last films, it takes a loving yet ironic look at Hollywood’s now defunct star system as it follows a cash-strapped indie producer who’s trying to get the apparently ageless star Fedora make her comeback – and his fortune. His search takes him to a Greek island where Fedora is living in seclusion with a Polish countess. Detweiler discovers that she is being kept like a prisoner...

FEDORA is Billy Wilder’s second-to-last film and can be seen as one of his last directorial statements. Based on a short story by Thomas Tryon, it is an ironic, humorous, yet also melancholic and surprisingly modern view of Hollywood’s longing for everlasting youth. It stars Academy Award®-winner William Holden (STALAG 17, THE BRIDGE ON THE RIVER KWAI) and Marthe Keller (MARATHON MAN, BLACK SUNDAY) in the lead roles, next to a roster of high-caliber international stars such as Henry Fonda, José Ferrer, Frances Sternhagen, Michael York, and Hildegard Knef.

The digital remastering of FEDORA lets the film glow with crisp colors again.
