Dead Diver in the Woods, The
"The Dead Diver in the Woods"

A soon-to-retire police chief with 3 big problems: 2 dead bodies and a smart new cop.

The quiet town of Ganzlin and the retirement plans of police chief veteran Konrad Hartwich are rudely upset when a charred corpse, fully garbed in diving gear is found in the forest. The portly, irritable Hartwich has yet another thorn in his side, the unwelcome expertise of his newly arrived replacement, Officer Tobias Knutschke.
When a woman's mutilated body is discovered two days later, Hartwich attributes the deaths to the same killer, but Kutschke quickly deduces the actual circumstances of the diver's death.

Frustrated and panicked as he sees his unblemished career about to suffer this last, untimely blow, Chief Hartwich pounces on a hapless, low-life hustler as the culprit. Although hardpressed to work together, the two cops finally corner the real murderer, each displaying heroics as distinctly contrasting as the two men themselves.
