Film Info: Kandinsky's Violet

(Kandinsky's Violet)

Kandinsky’s Violet is based on Wassily Kandinsky’s theater play The Violet Curtain from 1914. The film is a direct implementation of Kandinsky’s text for Interludium 1, 2, 3, and 4, as he called them. Since color film did not exist in 1914, it remains unclear just how Kandinsky imagined the implementation of his text.
