FIDLab – German Focus 2026 | Call for German Producers

FIDLab, the international co-production platform of FIDMarseille, is dedicated to supporting bold and innovative cinematographic projects. Open to projects from development to post-production, in both fiction and documentary, FIDLab focuses on singular artistic visions, offering directors and producers strong international visibility and opportunities to connect with key partners and funding bodies.

Over 17 editions, FIDLab has established itself as a recognized European label, hosting meaningful encounters between project holders and industry professionals, including producers, sales agents, festival programmers, distributors, and fund representatives.

Each year, a carefully curated selection of around twelve projects is presented in Marseille to an extensive network of international film professionals. In parallel, FIDLab highlights one country through a dedicated focus. In 2026, the spotlight will be on Germany.

CALL FOR GERMAN PRODUCERS

The 18th edition of FIDLab will take place on July 9 & 10, 2026, during the 37th edition of FIDMarseille (July 7–12, 2026).

As part of the German Focus, three German producers will be invited to present three current projects and to participate in one-to-one meetings and professional networking events. The festival will cover travel expenses from Germany and accommodation in Marseille for three nights (July 8, 9 & 10).

The aim of this focus is to highlight key production companies within contemporary German cinema, striking a balance between strong artistic line-ups and supporting emerging producers eager to engage in international co-production.

To apply, producers must send the following documents to Sylva Häutle (haeutle@german-films.de):

  • Cover letter to take part in FIDLab 2026 (1 page max)
  • Production company’s profile and filmography (including festival selections)
  • A list of current projects (including title, director, genre, countries, companies, project status and estimated budget).

Deadline to submit the application: March 15th 2026

The selected producers will be informed by mid-April 2026.

The German delegation will be officially announced during a cocktail event at the Cannes Film Festival, co-hosted by German Films.
