Sections Since 2003, CPH:DOX has specialized in auteur-driven films from the hybrid field between documentary, fiction and visual art. The festival has seven international competitions: Main Competition (DOX:AWARD), Artists’ films (NEW:VISION Award), NORDIC:DOX Award (Scandinavian films), Doc Alliance Award, F:ACT Award (journalistic work), NEXT:WAVE Award (innovative films), The Politiken Audience Award (with potential for distribution). The festival also showcases more popular titles of interest to buyers and programmers, as well as curated and guest curated sidebars.
Terms of Entry The festival is open to films of any duration including serials, VR and AR experiences, and other audiovisual formats. Films are eligible if they have premiered after April 1, 2019.
Subtitles English subtitles necessary
Format 35 mm, DCP, Blu-ray, 16 mm
Registration Deadline September 1 for films finished by that date.
December 1 for films finished after September 1 (only).
Fees An entry fee of 200 DKK (approx. 27.00 EUR) applies to all film submissions of more than 30 minutes. The entry fee for films of less than 30 minutes is reduced to 100 DKK (approx. 13.50 EUR).
Attendance Figures 91,400 The festival attracted around 700 international guests in 2012 from all sectors of the film industry and the media.

Number of Films Shown More than 200 feature films and 15 compilation programs of shorter titles. The films come from everywhere in the world.
Media Coverage 58 international media were present at the 2012 festival which generated 1073 articles (print, digital, tv, radio). International trade papers such as Screen, Variety, IndieWire and others have been present at the festival in recent years. The festival receives massive interest from national, regional and international media.
Evaluation CPH:DOX has developed to be one of the most important documentary festivals in Scandinavia. A diverse, international program, the excellent organisation and the large interest of the local audience have made the festival to an established and respected documentary event.
Services CPH:DOX specializes in auteur-driven films in the hybrid field between documentary, fiction and visual art. The festival also showcases the best and brightest from the Nordic Countries, as well as more topical films from around the world and a strong lineup of seminars. The industry platform CPH:FORUM takes place for three days during the festival, and hosts a state-of-the-art videotheque during the festival for buyers, programmers and other industry professionals.
