Evaluation Hof used to be among the most highly acclaimed festivals in Germany. Founded in 1967, it immediately played an important role in the festival scene. It looks back on a long tradition, in particular of discovering young German talent directors, but also of following international directors' careers from early on. The most important element here is the focus on new independent German films, with numerous German premieres of international films selectively scheduled for Hof added to the mix. The festival is still a popular autumn meeting place for film lovers as well as some German industry representatives.
