COVID-19-UPDATE:
Select programs will migrate to a digital platform during Tribeca’s originally scheduled dates. This includes the N.O.W. Creators Market, Jury and Art Awards, Industry Extranet Resource Hub, and the brand-focused Tribeca X Awards, which are available for viewing here. Tribeca Immersive’s audience-facing Cinema360 will debut in partnership with Oculus on April 17 and features 15 virtual reality films, curated into four 30-40 minute programs. The N.O.W. (New Online Work) section will help connect digital content creators with industry professionals. The N.O.W. Creators Market will take place virtually on April 21 and 22 via 20- minute video pitch meetings between creators and industry professionals for collaborative purposes. The Tribeca Industry Extranet Resource Hub, will launch as planned, providing resources on the 2020 program that include rights availabilities, delegate directory and sales contacts. The hub will also host an online screening library of select Tribeca 2020 projects. The Jury and Art Awards will continue as planned, with winners for all categories, including Tribeca X, set to be announced via Tribeca’s website within the window of the original festival dates, April 15 to 26. Categories include: Documentary Feature Competition; Albert Maysles Award for Best New Documentary Director; and Short Documentary Competition.

Terms of Entry No public screening before 1 January 2019; must be at least a North American Premiere to be eligible for the Narrative Feature or Documentary Feature Awards. All other sections require at least a U.S. premiere or New York premiere. Features: longer than 40 min. / shorts less than 40 min.

COVID-19-UPDATE:
Tribeca Enterprises, the producer of the Tribeca Film Festival, plans a cooperation with YouTube in order to host a new online-only international film festival called WE ARE ONE: A GLOBAL FILM FESTIVAL (https://www.youtube.com/WeAreOne), taking place May 29 – June 7, 2020. The digital festival will feature films from this year’s online version of the Tribeca fest, as well as highlights from the following participating international film festivals: Annecy, Berlin, BFI London, Cannes, Film at Lincoln Center, Guadalajara, Jerusalem, Karlovy Vary, Locarno, Macao, Marrakech, Mumbai, New York, San Sebastian, Sarajevo, Sundance, Sydney, Tokyo, Toronto and Venice. Digital programming includes features, shorts, documentaries, music, comedies, talent interviews and conferences, FOR FREE. Audience members will be invited to donate to WHO as well as local organizations involved in the COVID-19 relief efforts around the world.

Evaluation The Tribeca Film Festival was founded by Robert De Niro, Jane Rosenthal, Martin Scorsese and Craig Hatkoff to celebrate New York City as a major filmmaking capital and to contribute to the long-term recovery of lower Manhattan after the attacks of September 11, 2001.
In the meantime the festival has established itself as one of the important public audience festivals in New York focusing on innovative formats and storytelling across all medium and platforms that go beyond the big screen. The festival curates innovative and interactive experiences and introduces new technology and ideas through panels, premieres, exhibitions and live performance.
