Media Coverage The Los Angeles Film Festival gets extensive local, national and international media coverage, with over 400 accredited press form outlets including Variety, The Hollywood Reporter, Los Angeles Times, Access Hollywood, Extra, KCRW-FM, KABC TV, indieWire and the BBC.

Specific Characteristics The winner of the short film competition automatically qualifies for the OSCAR competition for the Best Short Film.

Evaluation A typical audience festival with a respectable number of European arthouse films. The new festival dates in September (shift from June) reflect the new focus on independent films that are important for the Academy Awards (R) campaigns; new festival player in awards season.
