Specific Characteristics Recognized by FIAPF (International Federation of Film Producers Associations) as Documentary and/or Short Film Festival. The winner of the short film competition automatically qualifies for the OSCAR competition for the Best Short Film. The jury nominates a short film from the international competition for the European Film Awards.

Evaluation This festival is one of the most important events in Eastern Europe for artistically ambitious short and documentary films. In the past decades it has produced famous directors such as Roman Polanski and Krzysztof Kieslowski. The festival has pledged itself to the discovery of new talents. The fascinating city of Krakow plays a decisive role in the festival's relaxed and familiar atmosphere. It is not very commercially oriented, but receives considerable attention from a culturally-interested and open-minded audience (many students).

Services The festival covers the return transport of the selected films after the festival.
