International Competition

Sections International Competition (An international competition which mainly focused on feature films from first-time and second-time director from around the world.), New Chinese Cinema (Competition for only Chinese language films.), World Panorama (A non-competitive selection of 8 films from other major international film festivals, also the best of world cinema to have emerged in the year which includes English language films that are considered contenders for Academy Award consideration.)
Gala & Special Presentations (More mainstream crowd-pleasing films shall be presented in the Gala section, and screenings of films at the discretion of the Artistic director related to special guest attendance and lifetime achievement honorees.), Flying Daggers (A non-competitive selection of international genre films.), Big Screen Classics, Opening film and Closing film, Short films. The most important sections for German films would be International Competition and World Panorama.

Terms of Entry A film may be entered for selection by its producer, distributor or a representative thereof (an “Entrant”). In order to be eligible for selection, the Entrant must, by no later than 31st August 2020 (the “Deadline”):
a) fill out the selection entry form, exclusively via the Festival’s official website at www.iffamacao.com;
b) pay the submission fee; and
c) send a copy of the film to the address set out in paragraph 3.4.1.
The films selected for inclusion in the Festival shall be placed, at the sole and absolute discretion of the Festival, in one of the sections of the Official Selection. Entrants may not submit their films directly into any specific section.
Only films that meet the following conditions may be submitted for consideration in the Official Selection:
a) The film shall have a running time of more than 60 minutes; and
b) Except for films under “Classics & Retrospective” section, the film shall have not been screened to a public audience before Jan 1, 2020
Unless the original language of the film is English, the film must have English or Chinese subtitles for all other languages and/or Chinese languages/dialects.

Registration Deadline For film subtitling, the festival covers the cost for the creation of Chinese subtitles for the selected films. Any and all shipping costs to and from the Festival in relation to the films submitted by the Entrants must be borne by the respective Entrants.

Fees Feature films: USD 50; Short films is USD 30.

Attendance Figures 10,000

Participants of the Film Industry 193 international visitors from the film industry participated in the 4th IFFAM.

Prizes/Awards Official Competition, Best Film (Trophy with a cash prize of US 60,000), Best Director (only trophy), Best Screenplay (only trophy), Best Actor (only trophy), Best Actress (only trophy).
