Evaluation Hof is among the most highly acclaimed festivals in Germany. It was founded in 1967 by Heinz Badewitz, who continued to be the festival's director until 2016, and immediately played an important role in the festival scene. It looks back on a long tradition, in particular of discovering young German talent directors, but also of following international directors' careers from early on. The most important element here is the focus on new German films, with numerous German premieres of international films selectively scheduled for Hof added to the mix. The festival program, the excellent guest service, the enthusiastic local audiences and the relaxed atmosphere in the small town make Hof a popular autumn meeting place for film lovers as well as the German film and television industry.
Special Event: Traditional football match with a team of prominent figures of the film business vs. a Hof team (Saturday 10.30am, at the Freie Turner football ground, just above Theresienstein).
