Evaluation Heartland Film Festival is an audience driven festival dedicated to international arthouse films, specifically in the context of the award season. Every year the line-up includes a high percentage of foreign language film of the “Best International Feature Film” Oscar® category and has become an important promotion platform for this section. Since 1992 the festival has awarded $3.5 million in cash prizes, the largest prize purse given by a film festival in North America. This year the festival has given out more than $92,000 in cash prizes between Indy Shorts and Heartland.
