WRAPPED combines time-lapse photography with visual effects to open up new perspectives on nature’s processes. It explores effects of time and change, focusing on the world’s seemingly permanent cycles. The deterioration of one thing lays the foundation for another.


Roman Kälin , born in Einsiedeln/Switzerland, studied Architecture in Zurich, followed by Animation and Visual Effects at the Filmakademie Baden-Württemberg from 2007-2014. He is the co-director of the VFX short FORMIC (2009) and A.MAIZE, the trailer and branding for the FMX 2011. He worked for Glassworks, Psyop and Polynoid and graduated with the short WRAPPED (2014).

Falko Paeper was born in 1983 in Berlin and worked as a web designer and digital compositor, before studying Animation and Visual Effects at the Filmakademie Baden-Württemberg from 2007-2014. He is the co-director of A.MAIZE, the trailer and branding for the FMX 2011. He worked for Psyop and Polynoid and graduated with the short WRAPPED (2014).

Florian Wittmann was born in 1980 in Deggendorf. He studied Digital Media in Bremen and worked as a freelance motion designer and 3D-artist. From 2007-2014, he studied Animation and Visual Effects at the Filmakademie Baden-Württemberg. He is the co-director of the VFX short FORMIC (2009), A.MAIZE, the trailer and branding for the FMX 2011, and his graduation short WRAPPED (2014).
